At the beginning of Corona, nobody had masks and many people sewed masks until the needles glowed. So do I. I had a lot of scraps of fabric from those times and that’s when I came up with the idea of turning them into a quilt. Without thinking too much about whether colors or motifs fit together.
In summer I started cutting the scraps of fabric into strips outside in the garden, in the fall I started sewing squares and at the beginning of winter, the quilt was done.
In the end I sewed 280 squares for the top. The back is also made from leftovers. However, I took the materials as they fell into my hands.
The quilt is approx. 49 x 69 inches in size, which corresponds to approx. 125 cm x 176 cm. I used a cotton fleece for the filling. I like the quilt very much, it is very colorful and keeps me warm. I was hoping to use up all my leftover fabric but there is still some left over. You just always buy too much but who doesn’t know that.

Love your beautiful quilt! That is a wonderful idea to use up scraps- I have quite a few masks cut out that I will not use! I really like the pattern you used and the color mix is great too. Awesome!
The quilt looks awesome on both sides. What side to have facing up depends on your mood. Well done!
